How to request deletion of your data
You have the right to ask Salon Whisper Ltd to delete personal data we hold about you. This page explains how to make that request and what to expect.
1. What data does Salon Whisper hold?
Depending on how you have interacted with us, this may include:
- Waitlist & quiz responses — your name, email address, account type (salon owner / individual stylist), business name (if you provided one), phone number (if you provided one), your quiz answers and resulting tier, and basic browser metadata (IP address, user agent).
- Connected messaging accounts (post-launch only) — message content from Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and SMS that you have explicitly connected to the Salon Whisper app, and any contacts, bookings or notes you have created.
- Account data (post-launch only) — your profile, salon settings, billing history.
2. How to make a deletion request
Email support@salonwhisper.com from the email address you signed up with, with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”. Please include:
- The email address(es) associated with your data.
- A short note saying whether you want to delete a specific category (waitlist record, app account, connected channels) or everything we hold.
If you cannot email us from the address on file (for example, you no longer have access to that email), please email us anyway and we will verify your identity another way before processing the request.
3. What happens next
- We respond within 30 days, in line with UK GDPR Article 17 (“Right to erasure”).
- For most requests we delete the data within 7 working days and reply confirming completion.
- We may retain a minimal record of the deletion request itself (the email address and the date of deletion) for up to 6 years to satisfy our legal accountability obligations under UK GDPR Article 5(2). This residual record contains no other personal data.
4. Where third parties are involved
Some data also lives in tools that Salon Whisper uses to deliver the service (our sub-processors). When you ask us to delete data, we propagate the deletion to those sub-processors as part of our internal runbook. Our current sub-processor list lives at salonwhisper.com/sub-processors.
For data that your salon holds about you (for example, if you are an end client of a salon that uses Salon Whisper), please contact the salon directly — they are the data controller for their own client list. We can help you identify the salon if you are unsure.
5. Other rights you have
Beyond deletion, UK GDPR gives you the right to access your data, correct it, restrict its use, and object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email the same address above. Our full Privacy Policy is at salonwhisper.com/privacy.
6. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
